JULIUS SERMONIA

Based in Toronto, Julius Sermonia has gathered an impressive list of stage credentials spanning across North America. The dancer, singer and actor has played Mistoffelees in the final Broadway cast of CATS, the recent Broadway Tony nominated revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, served as dance captain in Des McAnuff’s epic Broadway production Doctor Zhivago, and toured throughout North America with Susan Stroman’s Tony Award winning musical Contact. In Canada, Julius spent seven seasons with the prestigious Stratford Festival and was featured in musicals including West Side Story, Anything Goes, Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar, Camelot, Evita, Kiss Me Kate, Cabaret, Oklahoma, My One and Only, Guys and Dolls, and Anything Goes. Julius has also appeared in two of Ross Petty’s holiday pantomimes: Cinderella & The Little Mermaid, at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto. Featured performances with other theatre companies include La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, Pittsburgh CLO, The Grand Theatre, Neptune, Drayton Entertainment, Stage West Calgary, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Aquarius, Canadian Stage and Citadel.

Julius was raised in Mississauga where he was formally trained at the Canadian Dance Company. Julius’ unique style in his craft and ability to connect with students has made him a sought after dance teacher, choreographer and adjudicator. He has worked in top studios, conventions and competitions across Ontario, New York, New Jersey and Florida.
