ASHLEY SCHOFEILD

Ashley is a passionate and motivated teacher and choreographer, and has danced for over twenty years. Her personal competitive achievements as a student have extended into the United States, as well as in Canada, winning numerous overall awards and championships. Miss Schofield has trained across North America with notable teachers and choreographers, and has memorable performing experiences in Las Vegas, New York City and LA. Ashley now passes her love of dance onto her students across the GTA, as well as her university varsity team at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). She has been both a guest choreographer and head coach of the team for the past four years.

Ashley is an award winning choreographer with her competitive work and many of her students have won many titles, pageants, dance-offs and overalls. Ashley’s choreography was chosen in New York City as “Best In Show” at Broadway Dance Center’s AIM Invitational competition, and more recently one of her contemporary soloists was selected as a top three finalist at the 2013 Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) semi-finals in the US. Her senior and graduated students can be seen working professionally in commercials, Stratford musicals, Mirvish productions, and on Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Lines. Along with studio choreography and UOIT’s Varsity Dance Team, Ashley has also choreographed for lululemon athletica in-store promotions, Lakeridge Health fashion shows and fundraisers, and many other promotional teams. Ashley was recently selected by audition to attend the National Choreographer's Intensive at Utah Valley University. While in attendance, she had the opportunity to work, study and create under the guidance of nationally recognized professionals Nelly van Bommel and Rob Wood.

Miss Schofield continues to train and modernize by attending professional dance conventions, teacher’s seminars and master classes across Canada and the US. Having completed the teacher training program under the direction of Bryan and Faye Foley, she is a full member of the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT).
