RILEY MARTEL

Riley Martel is a Toronto-based professional dancer, specializing in Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, and Contemporary. Riley grew up in competitive dance competing across Ontario and received his formal training in Dance Performance through Centennial College also in Toronto, Ontario. Riley has been in many music videos as well as a few TV show series such as The Next Step. Riley has recently toured with Pavlo Simtikidis and will be preforming in Blake McGrath’s music tour that will be coming to Toronto March 6th, 2018. Riley began working as an assistant instructor in his hometown of Cobourg at the age of 12 and quickly realized his passion for dance education. He trained in Royal Academy of Dance ballet, achieving his Intermediate Examination. Riley also holds a teaching certificate in Acrobatics through the internationally recognized Acrobatique. As a choreographer, Riley has received numerous awards for his work at several competitive dance studios in the Greater Toronto Area. As a performer, Riley’s experience spans film, television and stage as he has performed in such musicals as “Footloose”, “Jesus Christ Superstar””, and “Cabaret”. Riley was also fortunate enough to choreograph “Grease” putting together his love for choreography and theatre. Riley is a passionate performer who loves giving back to his community through workshops. He prides himself on keeping up to date on current dance performance and teaching trends by attending workshops such as Fresh Dance Intensive and the Canadian Dance Teacher Expo. Riley looks for to working with many young dancers, instilling the same love for dance that has brought him to where his is today!
