MATTHEW ARMET

Matthew is an extensively trained triple threat performer, choreographer, director,  instructor and adjudicator originally from North Battleford, SK. He is a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts with a specialty in choreography. Matthew has worked at The Stratford Festival for six seasons where his credits include Guys and Dolls, HMS Pinafore, A Chorus Line, As You Like It, The Sound of Music, Carousel, Crazy For You, Man of La Mancha, Fiddler on the Roof, The Who’s: Tommy, 42nd Street, and The Pirates of Penzance. He has performed along side Kurt Browning in Peter Pan (Elgin Theatre), and George Wendt in Hairspray (Charlottetown Festival). Other Theatre credits include: Cabaret, White Christmas (RMTC); Siegfried (Canadian Opera Company); Miracle on 34th Street: The Musical (Grand Theatre); Ted Hanover in Holiday Inn, Hairspray, How to Succeed… (Drayton); High School Musical, Peter Pan (Neptune); Les Feux Follets (Charlottetown Young Company); Princess Cruise Lines; and Grief: Another Common Bond which he co-created and starred in with Faye Rauw (Winchester St. Theatre). Film credits include: Feist’s music videos “1234” and “My Moon, My Man”, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? (CBC), and Johnny J, a member of the band SOUNDCHECK, in Odd Squad (PBS/TVO). He recently choreographed Guys and Dolls: in Concert with the WSO/Rainbow Stage and Mamma Mia (Lawyers Show) at RMTC. He is proud to call Winnipeg his new home.
