KATIE CHARTRAND

Originating from Windsor, Ontario, Katie Chartrand is a choreographer who prides herself on her ability to take you on a journey through movement. In 2013 Katie obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance from Wayne State University where she became Assistant director and choreographer to “CompanyOne”. She has worked with music artists Marianas Trench and Marlae choreographing the music videos “I Knew You When”, “Heartache” and “Better”.  Katie has also choreographed a dance based commercial for Hootesuite. She is a 7 year faculty member of Brighton Dance Festival, 4 year returning choreographer for the Source Dance Company and has adjudicated for Shine Dance Festival, Aberdeen Dance Festival and Phoenix Dance Competition. Katie has been a guest choreographer and instructor for dance intensives such as Team Canada, Sarah-Brewer Clowes’, ACT student intensive, Wayne State University, and BCDEA Dance Educators Conference. Katie choreographed the 2017 Top 10 Emerging Artists dance concept video for Shine Dance Festival  “Just be You” and has directed and choreographed several concept videos of her own. Katie’s choreography continues to find a voice in the industry and pushes her dancers to become movers with authentic intention.
