GENNY SERMONIA-GOMEZ
Genny Sermonia-Gome is a dancer, actor, choreographer, adjudicator, educator, CAEA/AEA and ACTRA member. She has trained and taught at some of North America’s top dance studios, festivals and institutions in various dance disciplines and styles, attended the prestigious Music Theatre Performance Program at Sheridan College completing the program with honours, and was the chosen recipient of the E. McFaddin Award for her commitment to dance as a passion and an industry.
Upon graduating, Genny has been fortunate enough to grace the stages of many legendary theatres across North America including The Stratford Festival, The Shaw Festival, Elgin Winter Garden Theatres, Drayton Entertainment, Mary Poppins (Broadway Tour), Disney Cruise Line, Vancouver Opera, The Grand Theatre, The Globe Theatre, Neptune Theatre, Capitol Theatre Port Hope, The Charlottetown Festival (YoCo). She is also no stranger to the Film & TV scene appearing in Blues Clues & You, Full Out, Odd Squad, Degrassi: TNG, CW’s Beauty and the Beast, The L.A. Complex, Hellcats, Warehouse 13, Really Me, Forensic Factor, Mirror Mirror, as well as many short films, and commercials.
Choreographic credits include Little Women, Once On This Island Jr. (Stage Door Academy), The Barbeque King (Theatre Sheridan, The Toronto Fringe Festival, Globus Theatre) A Funny Thing… Forum (Sunshine & Co), Assistant Choreographer: Phantom of The Opera, Urinetown (Theatre Sheridan) Self-choreographed appearances:The Fantasticks: In Concert with Eric McCormack (Stratford Festival), Odd Squad (PBS Kids) She has also been the dance captain, assisted, and collaborated on stage and on set with some of Canada’s leading choreographers and artists. Genny is currently on the Dance Faculty at Sheridan College teaching Jazz for the Music Theatre Performance Program.
